NU Concludes Home Schedule Against Maryland, Rutgers



The No. 68 Nebraska women’s tennis team (13-7, 2-5 Big Ten) is set to play its final home matches of the 2022-23 season against No. 62 Maryland on Friday at 12 p.m. CT and Rutgers on Sunday for Senior Day at 11 a.m. CT at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center. The matches will be played outdoors, and the live stream stats will be available on huskers.com. Updates will also be posted @HuskerWTennis on Twitter. 

Scouting Maryland (14-6, 3-4 Big Ten) 

• The Terrapins finished the 2021-2022 season with an overall record of 18-7, including a 6-5 Big Ten record.

• Katie Dougherty is in her fourth season as head coach of Maryland. 

• Mary Brumfield and Selma Cadar are ranked No. 66 as a doubles team.

• Maryland has a roster of three sophomores, one junior, two seniors and two graduate students.

Series History with Maryland 

• Nebraska has an even all-time record of 3-3 against the Terrapins. The last time the teams met on the court was in 2022, and the Huskers won the match 4-0.

Scouting Rutgers (9-8, 0-6 Big Ten)

• Rutgers earned a 5-18 overall record in the 2021-2022 season, including a 0-11 conference record.

• This is Head Coach Hilary Ritchie’s fifth season at the helm of the Scarlett Knights. 

• Rutgers has two freshmen, two sophomores and four juniors on its roster. 

Series History with Rutgers

• The Huskers and the Scarlet Knights have an overall record of 6-1. The last time Nebraska matched up against Rutgers, Nebraska swept the match 4-0.
