Huskers Garner Five All-Americans at NCAA Gymnastics Finals

In Columbus, Ohio, the Nebraska men’s gymnastics team concluded their season with an impressive display at the NCAA Championship Finals on Saturday evening, securing a fourth-place finish with a score of 412.427 and earning 10 All-America honors across various events.

Athlete Highlights:

  • Taylor Christopulos excelled with second place on floor (14.50), fourth on vault (15.00), third on high bar (13.90), and sixth in the all-around (81.933).
  • Zac Tiderman showcased his skills with a second-place finish on high bar (13.90) and seventh on vault (14.80).
  • Cooper Giles performed strongly on pommel horse, earning a sixth-place finish (14.30).
  • Asher Cohen and Sam Phillips also contributed significantly, with Cohen placing sixth on rings (13.966) and Phillips achieving seventh on high bar (13.60) and eighth in the all-around (80.333).

Team Standings: Stanford captured the national title with a score of 425.324, followed by Michigan and Oklahoma. Illinois and Ohio State rounded out the top six.

  • Parallel Bars: The team started strong, with scores led by James Friedman and Cole Partridge.
  • High Bar: Tiderman and Christopulos posted top scores, boosting the team’s second rotation performance.

Season Recap: The Huskers finished the 2024 season with a 12-8 record, achieving third place at the Big Ten Conference Championships and fourth at the NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Championships, underscoring a successful campaign marked by significant individual and team accomplishments.
