Huskers Deliver a Dominant Performance, Defeating Nicholls 16-0

In a spectacular showcase of skill and determination, the Nebraska baseball team secured a resounding victory against Nicholls with a commanding 16-0 triumph at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park on Saturday afternoon.

With a stellar offensive display and impeccable pitching, the Huskers (12-5) showcased their prowess, leaving Nicholls (17-5) trailing behind with no runs, four hits, and two errors.

The Huskers’ offensive onslaught was led by standout performances from several players. Will Walsh shone with an impressive 3-for-3 record, setting career highs in hits (3), runs (3), and RBIs (5). Rhett Stokes continued his stellar form with a 3-for-4 display, marking his fifth consecutive three-hit game at Haymarket Park.

Gabe Swansen added to the offensive fireworks with a three-run home run, while Case Sanderson and Riley Silva contributed with two RBIs each. Cayden Brumbaugh, Joshua Overbeek, and Garrett Anglim also made notable contributions with hits for the Big Red.

On the pitching front, Brett Sears delivered a masterful performance, improving his season record to 3-0. Sears allowed just three hits across six innings, maintaining a scoreless streak. Jalen Worthley showcased his prowess in the latter innings, securing the first save of his collegiate career with a stellar three-inning display.
