Huskers Hit the Road to Face OSU, PSU



The No. 65 Nebraska women’s tennis team (13-5, 2-3 Big Ten) hits the road to face No. 8 Ohio State on Friday at 3 p.m. and then travels to No. 59 Penn State for a matchup on Sunday at 10 a.m. Both matches are in central time and streaming/stats information will be on huskers.com. Updates for the matches will also be posted on Twitter at HuskerWTennis. 

Scouting Ohio State (12-5, 5-0 Big Ten) 

•.Ohio State had a 21-6 overall record for the 2021-22 season, including an undefeated 11-0 Big Ten record.

• Head Coach Melissa Schaub is heading into her 10th season with the Buckeyes.

• Ohio State has a balanced roster of one freshman, three sophomores, one junior, four seniors and three graduate students. 

•.The Buckeyes have three ITA ranked singles players and one ranked doubles team.

Series History with Ohio State

• NU has a 6-9 all-time record against the Buckeyes. Most recently, the teams matched up in 2022 with OSU winning 4-3. 

Scouting Penn State (10-9, 2-3 Big Ten)

• Penn State completed the 2021-22 season with an 11-13 overall record and a 5-6 conference record. 

• Alexandra Anghelescu enters her fourth season as head coach of the Nittany Lions.

• Penn State has a roster of one freshman, two sophomores, five juniors and two graduate students.

• Penn State has one ranked player, Sofiya Chekhlystova.

Series History with Penn State

• The Huskers are 7-4 all-time against Penn State. The last time the two teams met on the court was in 2022, and NU won the match 5-2.
