NU Concludes Day Two At Regionals

Iowa City, Iowa — The Nebraska women’s tennis team concluded its second day of play at the ITA Regionals tournament with the Huskers competing in both singles and doubles.
 
In the first match of the day, sophomores Kristina Novak and Maja Makoric defeated Hesham/Mintusova of SLU 8-2 in doubles play. Later in the day, Novak defeated Jordan Schifano from SIUE 6-2, 6-1 in singles, while Makoric also won her first singles match against Maja Gledic of UCA 6-3,6-2. 
 
Freshman Jillian Roa competed in two singles matches today, falling short to Norham Hesham of SLU 3-6, 2-6, but went on to defeat SLU’s Elizabeth Mintusova 6-3, 6-0 in the consolation draw. 
 
The last two single matches of the day were played by sophomores Chloe Kuckelman and Isabel AdroverGallego. Kuckelman faced Morgan Cross in a tough 4-6, 2-6 loss, while Adrover Gallego defeated Anna Turco from Kansas State 6-1, 7-5.
