Quotables

Head Coach Scott Frost on last week’s frustrations

“All week our team was frustrated that we didn’t it get done on Saturday. I’ve been more frustrated than anybody else. But I balance that with being really excited about the future, and what we have in this program right now with young players.”

On the younger skilled players

“We really could have benefitted from a preseason and playing some non-conference games. I think by the time we would have gotten into conference, a lot of these things that we’re working through right now would have been worked through already. But I’m excited about those guys and we’re going to keep playing the guys that practice the best that week and give guys a chance.”

On the leadership of Kade Warner

“Kade Warner is an unbelievable individual, I think he’s going to be a great football coach someday. He’s really shown leadership and the unselfish qualities of a leader to try to help bring those young WRs along.”

Defensive Coordinator Erik Chinander on the week after the loss to Northwestern

“They just wanted to practice again, and I was just amazed at this group that they wanted to take the hard coaching. It’s gotten to the point now where they don’t need a pat on the back every day. They want to get coached hard … they want to know how they can get better and they just want to play football. The practice Tuesday, just to have the opportunity to practice today in this crazy, weird year is what they really wanted.”
