Huskers Fall to Buckeyes – University of Nebraska

Columbus, Ohio – The No. 65 Nebraska women’s tennis team (13-6, 2-4 Big Ten) dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 8 Ohio State (14-5, 6-0 Big Ten) on Friday afternoon at the Auer Tennis Center. 
 
The match began with doubles play. On Court 3, Anfisa Danilchenko and Lucy Loy fell to Irina Cantos Siemers and Kathleen Jones, 6-1. Ohio State secured the overall doubles point as Isabel Adrover Gallego and Ana Carmen Zamburek dropped a hard-fought battle against Shelly Bereznyak and Sydni Ratliff on Court 2, 6-4. Raphaëlle Lacasse and Samantha Alicea battled on Court 1, and the teams were tied 5-5 before the match was called. 
 
With Nebraska down by one, the match continued with singles play. In the No. 6 spot, Loy was defeated by Willson, 6-1, 6-0. Danilchenko fell to Lucia Marzal on Court 4, 6-1, 6-1, putting Ohio State within one point of victory. OSU grabbed the overall win on Court 5 when Lacasse fell to Kollie Allen, 6-3, 6-1. The match concluded with unfinished matches on Courts 1, 2 and 3. 
 
Up next, the Huskers head to No. 59 Penn State to have a matchup on Sunday at 10 a.m. CT.
