Wisconsin Invitational Sunday Results – University of Nebraska

Madison, Wisc.- The Nebraska women’s tennis team wrapped up the Wisconsin Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The Huskers kicked off Sunday’s matchplay with three of five Huskers defeating their opponents from Minnesota. NU continued their winning record against Iowa in doubles, winning two of three matches over the Hawkeyes.
 
Minnesota
In the singles play sophomore Isabel Adrover Gallego defeated Lucia De Santa Ana 6-4, 7-6(5) and freshman Maja Makoric defeated Zeyneb Sarioglan (Minn.) 6-1, 6-3. Makoric finished the weekend 3-0 in singles play defeating opponents from Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota. Nebraska’s Chloe Kuckelman overpowered Juliet Zhang 6-3, 6-3 to improve to 2-0 on the year. Kristina Novak and Claire Reifeis fell to their Golden Gopher opponents Rachel Hanford and Ekin Ercetin, respectively

Iowa

Huskers Isabel Adrover Gallego and Claire Reifeis kicked off the doubles matches with a 6-1 victory over Danielle Burich and Samantha Gillas. The freshman duo of Vivien Sandberg and Maja Makoric were victorious over Ashleigh Jacobs and Michelle Bacalla 6-4. Kristina Novak and Hayley Haakenstad fell to Hawkeyes Alexa Noel and Samantha Mannix 6-3.

The Huskers are back at home on February 12^th to host Northwestern at 5:00pm (CT) and Illinois February 14^th at 11:00am (CT.)
