NU Treks Back to Air Force for Tri-Meet

The Big Red hits the road again, anticipating this Saturday’s tri-meet against Air Force and Army in Colorado after previously collecting yet another win at home in Lincoln. The Huskers are set to compete in Colorado Springs on Falcon territory on Saturday, March 12 at 2:00 p.m. CT.

Last Time Out

Nebraska rallies into the weekend after snatching the home-meet win against Big Ten opponent Illinois 408.050-406.150, with GymACT clubs Iowa and Minnesota placing in third and fourth respectively.

NU claimed their second-best team score of the season on senior night, in addition to claiming three event titles in the four-team battle this past Saturday. Junior Sam Phillips earned the high bar title with a score of 14.10. Senior Jake Bonnay notched a 14.05 on floor, good for the title. Senior Charlie Giles made a mark after taking the vault title with an impressive 15.05. Notably, the last Husker to notch a score in the 15’s on vault was back in 2019.

Looking ahead, the Huskers are ranked third overall ahead of their tri-meet this weekend. Following the all-around, NU ranks second on floor, pommel horse, high bar, third on vault and parallel bars, and fifth on still rings.

Individually, senior Jake Bonnay ranks third on floor, senior Charlie Giles ranks fourth on pommel horse, and junior Donte McKinney holds fifth rank on high bar.
