NU Heads to Milwaukee Classic

The Nebraska women’s tennis team travels to Milwaukee this weekend to compete at the 45th Annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic. The Milwaukee Country Club is set to host the three-day women’s invite. Sophomores Kristina Novak, Maja Makoric, and Isabel Adrover Gallego are traveling to this weekend’s tournament.

The Milwaukee Classic marks the first fall appearance for the three Huskers. Last season, Novak earned All-Big Ten honors after going 12-8 at the No. 1 spot and earning a 8-9 record in doubles play. Makoric earned Nebraska’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, after displaying leadership and ethical behavior in the 2020-21 season. In addition, Makoric went 12-6 in singles play and 7-4 overall in doubles play.

Adrover Gallego will also be making her fall debut this weekend. Last season, Adrover Gallego went 12-13 in singles play out of the No. 2 and No. 3 spots and 11-6 in doubles play with one of last year’s graduating seniors, Claire Reifeis

Adrover Gallego and Novak will be competing in the 32-player singles draw, and Makoric will be partnering with Novak as one of the 16 doubles teams.
