Huskers Sweep DePaul in Dominant Home Opener

The senior duo of Raphaëlle Lacasse and Isabel Adrover Gallego led the charge with a 6-2 win on Court One against DePaul’s Emily Casati and Yuliya Kizelbasheva. Despite a setback on Court Two, where juniors Ana Zamburek and Anfisa Danilchenko fell 6-3, Maja Pietrowicz and Lucy Loy clinched the crucial doubles point with a 6-2 victory on Court Three.

The momentum carried into singles play, where Nebraska dominated. Ana Zamburek set the tone with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 win on Court 5. Maja Pietrowicz continued the trend, defeating Eleanor Nobbs 6-1, 6-3, while freshman Maria Taranova secured the overall win with a 6-3, 6-2 victory.

Isa Adrover Gallego showed resilience on Court 1, bouncing back from a first-set loss to triumph 5-7, 6-0, 1-0 [10-7] over Sasha Stula. Anfisa Danilchenko mirrored this fighting spirit, overcoming Hannah Smith 6-4, 4-6 [10-7] on Court 2. Lucy Loy completed the sweep with a nail-biting 7-6 (5), 7-6 (4) win, showcasing the depth and tenacity of the Huskers.
