Huskers Host Intrasquad Meet, Throwers Compete at K-State Winter Invite

The Nebraska track and field team begins its 2022-23 season with two events this weekend on Friday and Saturday.
 
The Huskers host the annual Nebraska Intrasquad meet on Friday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Indoor Track, while three throwers start their season at the K-State Winter Invitational on Saturday in Manhattan, Kan.
 
Friday’s action begins with the pole vault and weight throw at 4:30 p.m., while running events are set to start at 6:30 p.m. with the 300-meter races.
 
Representing the Huskers at the K-State Winter Invitational, throwers Jonah Wilson, Taylor Latimer and Axelina Johansson are set to compete in the shot put and weight throw on Saturday. Latimer and Johansson compete in the women’s weight throw at 9:30 a.m. and women’s shot put at noon, while Wilson is set to throw in the men’s shot put at 1:15 p.m.
