Three Huskers Earn Weekly Big Ten Honors

Nebraska’s Darius Luff, Mayson Conner and Jenna Rogers garnered Big Ten Athlete of the Week accolades, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Luff was named Big Ten Men’s Track Athlete of the Week and Conner earned Big Ten Men’s Field Athlete of the Week recognition, while Rogers was tabbed Big Ten Women’s Field Athlete of the Week.

Luff’s first outdoor race of the season resulted in a win in the 110-meter hurdles, as the Lincoln native posted a time of 13.70 to beat out a talented field of 18 hurdlers at the Florida Relays.

Conner had a third-place finish in the high jump with a clearance of 7-1 (2.16m) in his first outdoor competition this season, while Rogers placed fourth in the high jump with an outdoor personal-best height of 6-0 1/2 (1.84m). That mark moved the freshman into a tie for seventh in school history in the event.

The Nebraska track and field team travels to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete at the John McDonnell Invitational on Thursday-Friday, April 7-8.
