Six Huskers Named CGA Regular-Season All-Americans



Six Huskers were named regular-season All-Americans announced the College Gymnastics Association which was announced Thursday afternoon. Freshman Taylor Christopulos, sophomore Cooper Giles, juniors Charlie Giles, Dillan King and Evan Kriley, and senior Jake Bonnay are among those who were honored. 

Jake Bonnay, a senior from Ontario, Canada, was named a regular-season All-American on floor for the second year in a row. Bonnay is currently ranked sixth in the NCAA with a national qualifying average score of 14.04. Bonnay claimed the floor title against Minnesota on Feb. 13. 

Cooper Giles, a sophomore from Lake Zurich, Illinois, was named a regular-season All-American on pommel horse. Giles has won two individual event titles this season and currently is ranked eighth with a national qualifying average score of 13.42. 

Evan Kriley, a junior from Tampa, Florida, was also named a regular-season All-American on pommel horse. Kriley has won two individual event titles this season and currently is ranked ninth with a national qualifying average score of 13.61. 

Taylor Christopulos, a freshman from Layton, Utah, was named a regular-season All-American on vault. Christopulos has claimed four individual event titles this season on vault and is currently ranked first with a national qualifying average score of 14.72. Christopulos was also recently named the 2021 Big Ten Freshman of the Year and earned six weekly honors this season. 

Charlie Giles, a junior from Lake Zurich, Illinois, was also named a regular-season All-American on vault. Giles is currently ranked eighth with a national qualifying average score of 14.43. 

Dillan King, a junior from Eagle Mountain, Utah, was named a regular-season All-American on high bar. King has claimed one individual event title this season on high bar and is currently ranked sixth with a national qualifying average score of 13.55. 

The Huskers are set to host the Big Ten Championships this Saturday, April 3 at 7:00 p.m. CT at the Pinnacle Bank Arena. The meet is on BTN and tickets are available at Huskers.com/tickets.
