Siedhoff, Forsberg Earn N Club Postgraduate Scholarships



Letterwinners Luke Siedhoff and Elsa Forsberg were announced as the recipients of the N Club Postgraduate Scholarships. 

Siedhoff, a member of the track and field team from Crete, Neb., is the 2021 male recipient of the N Club Postgraduate Scholarship. He graduated in May 2020 with degrees in biological sciences and Spanish finishing with a 3.91 GPA. He has been admitted to UNMC. Siedhoff was a three-time Tom Osborne Citizenship Team honoree, earned the Sam Foltz 27 Hero Leadership Award and was named the 2020 Nebraska Male Student-Athlete of the Year. The CoSIDA Second-Team Academic All-American and recipient of the Big Ten Medal of Honor in 2020 was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, a four-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and earned a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll 11 times. He was also recognized by USTFCCCA as All-Academic four times and earned the Nebraska Outstanding Scholar Award in 2020. 

Siedhoff made an impression on the track and field team as well. He earned USTFCCCA All-America First Team honors in 2018 and All-America Second Team honors in 2019. He was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team twice in 2019 and 2020. 

Elsa Forsberg is the second recipient of the N Club Postgraduate Scholarship. Forsberg, a member of the cross country and track and field team from Lincoln, Neb., graduated in May 2020 with a degree in fisheries and wildlife. A UNL Outstanding Scholar and three-time Tom Osborne Citizenship Team honoree, Forsberg graduated with a 3.96 GPA and plans to attend graduate school at UNL. She earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors in 2019 and 2020 and was a three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar. Forsberg was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, earned the Sam Foltz 27 Hero Award and was an eight-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

Forsberg was also a major contributor as a runner as well. Her 2020 season was highlighted by a 10th-place finish in the mile at the Big Ten Indoor Championships. She also set a PR of 4:42.16 at the Iowa State Classic, marking the No. 7 time in NU history. Forsberg claimed the 3,000m title at the Adidas Classic, 800m crown at the Nebraska Tune-Up and won both the 1,000m and was part of the winning distance medley relay team at the Graduate Classic.

 

The N Club Postgraduate Scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who have graduated from UNL and exhausted their athletic eligibility in the past year. Recipients must have earned at least one varsity letter, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and have been named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. Each letterwinner is awarded a scholarship in the amount of $3,500 contingent upon proof of admission and registration to a University of Nebraska graduate program.
