Rogers Finishes Sixth in NCAA High Jump



EUGENE, Ore. – Nebraska freshman high jumper Jenna Rogers tied for sixth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field on Saturday to conclude the meet. 

Rogers cleared 6-0 (1.83m) to finish in a tie for sixth and earn first-team All-America honors for the second time this year. The Big Ten indoor and outdoor champion was also an indoor first-team All-American after finishing seventh. 

With Rogers’ finish – combined with Maddie Harris’ silver medal in the javelin and Axelina Johansson’s bronze medal in the shot put – the Husker women scored 16 team points to finish in 14th place in the team standings. It marks the best finish for the Husker women since 2006. 

Riley Masten also competed in the high jump for the NU women on Saturday. In her first trip to the NCAA Championships, Masten cleared 5-7 3/4 (1.72m) to tie for 20th place and earn USTFCCCA honorable mention.
