• Cornell has gotten off to a strong start in the 2023 campaign, opening with three straight wins. Cornell finished the 2022 season 17-8, with a 4-3 record in conference play.

• Jack McCarthy is the lone ranked Cornell player, coming in at No. 116 in singles play.

• This weekend’s match will be the first time that Cornell has played away from home this spring. In 2022, Cornell played just five road matches, going 3-2.

Series History

The Huskers are 0-3 all time against Cornell. The two teams last played in 2022 in Ithaca, N.Y., with Cornell winning 6-1. This will be the first time since 2016 that Nebraska has hosted Cornell in Lincoln.

Prior to Nebraska, Kobelt served as the volunteer assistant coach at Kentucky for two seasons from 2020 to 2022. He was responsible for implementing the doubles strategy and on-court fitness for the entire team and coached the No. 1 ranked ITA player, Liam Draxl, through the semifinals matches at the 2021 NCAA Men’s singles competition. Kobelt also had the responsibility of leading team practice and handling recruiting logistics, while helping the Wildcat team reach the 2022 NCAA finals and a No. 7 national ranking.
