NU Hangs On To Second Place After Day Two



Dallas, Texas – The Huskers remain in second place after day two of the Prairie View Invitational with a 7-3 record.

Nebraska started the day with a strong victory against No. 6 Arkansas State by a score of 1,023-910. The Huskers next faced off against No. 19 Sacred Heart and took another win (1,067-1,048). NU built off of their first two matches to take their third win of the day against No. 13 Tulane (1,007-899). Nebraska then faced off with No. 15 Fairleigh Dickinson and took their first loss of the day (943-1,043). To end the day, the Huskers fell to the No. 4 North Carolina A&T Bulldogs (969-1,005).

Kayla Verstraete leads the Huskers in individual standings, sitting in sixth place with a total average of 222.80 pins. Kendyl Hofmeister follows behind Verstraete in 11th place with a total average pinfall of 212.20. Crystal Elliott landed in 35th (192.60), Michelle Guarro ended up in 40th (191.00), Gwen Maeha not far after in 46th (188), and Cassidy Ray closely behind in 48th (185.60).

Nebraska will resume bowling at 8:25 a.m. against Youngstown State in a Traditional Style match before entering bracket play.
