Nebraska’s Adrian Martinez Named to Big 10 Preseason Watch List

Nebraska’s Adrian Martinez was one of 10 players named to the Big 10’s preseason watch list, the conference announced Thursday morning. The sophomore quarterback has been racking up the preseason accolades, as he was named to the Maxwell Award and Davey O’Brien Award watch lists earlier this week.

Last season, Martinez threw for 2,617 yards and 17 touchdown passes, while adding 629 yards and 8 touchdowns on the ground. He was the first true freshman to start at QB in program history.

The list, which included five players from the East division and five players from the West division, includes Michigan State’s Joe Bachie and Kenny Willekes, Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins and Chase Young, Penn State’s Yetur Gross-Matos, Iowa’s A.J. Epenesa Jr., Northwestern’s Paddy Fisher Jr., Purdue’s Rondale Moore and Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor.
