Nebraska basketball lands Utah transfer guard Rollie Worster

Nebraska landed its second transfer of the offseason Monday.

Utah guard Rollie Worster announced his commitment to NU on Instagram, providing the Huskers with a veteran ball handler as a roster begins to take form.

Nebraska will be Worster’s third school. He spent his freshman year at Utah State, transferring to Utah after it hired Utah State coach and former Nebraska assistant Craig Smith. As a senior last season, he started 16 games before going down with an ankle injury in January. In his limited action, he averaged 9.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game.

Worster isn’t a knockdown shooter but slots in as an option to handle the ball for Nebraska after Jamarques Lawrence entered the transfer portal at the beginning of April. Ahron Ulis will also be available after missing last season due to a gambling-related eligibility issue. The upcoming year will be Worster’s fifth in college. Barring a redshirt, it will be his last.

Worster’s addition means the Huskers still have five open scholarships remaining, a number that could still climb if Rienk Mast doesn’t return.
