Miramontez, Loebel Sign Pro Contracts

Former Nebraska soccer players Sinclaire Miramontez and Michaela Loebel recently signed contracts to continue their professional careers.

Miramontez, who was the No. 27 pick in the 2020 NWSL Draft, signed with the NWSL’s Racing Louisville FC on Friday, May 21, just hours before competing in Racing Louisville’s second regular-season game against the Washington Spirit. Miramontez, whose contract runs through the 2022 season, helped Racing Louisville to a 2-0 victory.

A 23-year-old defender out of Lenexa, Kan., Miramontez was a three-time All-Big Ten selection for the Huskers. She was a first-team All-Big Ten choice in both 2017 and 2018 after earning a spot on the Big Ten All-Freshman team in 2016. A MAC Herman Trophy and Senior CLASS Award candidate in 2019, Miramontez capped her career as a second-team All-Big Ten pick. She started 76 games in her Husker career.

Loebel, a 25-year-old midfielder from Geneva, Ill., signed her first professional contract over the weekend as well, joining Fjardab/Hottur/Leiknir in Iceland. Loebel competed for the Huskers from 2014 through 2018 and earned her bachelor’s degree from Nebraska in May of 2019.
