Huskers Wrap Up Michael Johnson Invitational



Jenna Rogers moved into a tie for third all-time in school history in the high jump with her runner-up finish on Saturday at the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco, Texas.

Rogers cleared 6-2 (1.88m) to move into a tie with Tammy Thurman for third all-time in program history.

Axelina Johansson moved into third all-time in program history in the shot put, winning the women’s event with a mark of 58-4 (17.78m).

Maxwell Otterdahl led a trio of Huskers in the top-four in the men’s shot put, posting a winning mark of 66-6 3/4 (19.98m) to climb up to fifth all-time in program history. Alex Talley finished runner-up with a launch of 62-8 3/4 (19.12m), while Kevin Shubert placed fourth with a distance of 60-9 1/4 (18.52m).

Maddie Harris won the women’s javelin competition, throwing 178-2 (54.31m). Harris has won all three outdoor meets she’s competed in this season. Mirta Kulisic placed fifth after launching the javelin 161-8 (49.29m). 

On the men’s side, Tyler Brown finished fourth in the javelin with a personal-best throw of 203-7 (62.07m).

Ashley McElmurry jumped a wind-aided personal best of 42-4 (12.90m) in the triple jump and earned a runner-up finish. Micaylon Moore had a wind-aided personal-best finish of 50-7 1/2 (15.43m) to place fourth in the triple jump on the men’s side.

Mayson Conner took home fourth in the men’s high jump with a clearance of 6-9 1/2 (2.07m). On the track, Audrey Freyhof won the women’s 3000m steeplechase with a finish of 11:28.60.
