Huskers Travel To Regionals – University of Nebraska



Lincoln – The Nebraska bowling team travels to Kansas City to take on Medaille in the first round of the NCAA Bowling Championship Regionals on Wednesday, April 7.

“The team is excited for the NCAA’s this week,” Head Coach Paul Klempa said. “We have spent the last several weeks preparing well to be as ready as possible for the competition this week. The team has done a very good job during this preparation period and are ready to show it. I believe this team has the potential to have a fun week of competition and I am anxious to get underway.”

Sophomore Crystal Elliott leads the team with an average of 216.36 with a season-high finish of third at the Mid-Winter Invitational. Redshirt freshman Kayla Verstraete is second on the team with a 215.83 average and season-high finish of second at the Music City Classic.

Joining NU at regionals will be top-ranked McKendree, No. 3 North Carolina A&T, No. 4 Louisiana Tech, Roberts Wesleyan, Duquesne, Sacred Heart, Medaille, Vanderbilt, Mount St. Mary’s, Prairie View A&M, Arkansas State, Delaware State, Youngstown State, Farleigh Dickinson and Sam Houston State.

The NCAA Bowling Championships take place Wednesday through Saturday, April 7-10. All brackets are double elimination through regionals with the first round of regionals beginning at 9:00 a.m. central time Wednesday morning with round two starting at 3:00 p.m. Fans will be able to watch the entire tournament on the NCAA’s website.
