Huskers Second Entering Last Day of Track Kat Klash

Houston, TX– The Huskers bowling team returned to the Track Kat Klash on Saturday and finished the day with an overall record of 8-2 and a total pinfall of 10,252. This performance landed the Huskers the second seed heading into the final day of competition.

The Huskers started the day strong with a win against Alabama A&M (1,138-784). NU continued with the momentum from that win to beat Texas Southern (1,029-772) and Alabama State (922-908). Nebraska took their only loss of the day against Louisiana Tech (986-1,119) and then bounced back to finish the day with a win against Maryville (1,016-970). 

Junior Crystal Elliott landed in second place in the individual standings with a total pinfall of 1,128. Joining her in the Top 25 is Kendyl Hofmeister sitting in 11th (1,046) and Kayla Verstraete in 14th (1,027). 

Nebraska will face North Carolina A&T in the opening round of the best-of-seven Baker format championship tournament on Sunday morning at 8:20 a.m. (CT).
