Huskers Return to Action on Monday to Face No. 3 Michigan



The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team returns to action on Monday, Feb. 27 to face the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines. The meet will take place at the Bob Devaney Sports Center and is set to begin at 6 p.m. (CT). Fans can watch the action live on BTN+ (subscription required). 

The last time the Huskers and the Wolverines faced off in a dual meet was during the 2022 season when Michigan claimed the victory, 196.750-195.475. 

Last Time Out

NU is coming off a second-place finish at Big Fives where the Huskers notched a season-best score of 196.925. The Big Red outscored No. 13 Ohio State, No. 18 Minnesota and Rutgers en route to a second-place finish. No. 19 Michigan claimed the Session II title with a team score of 197.675. 

The Big Red set numerous season-best scores including the best team scores on vault, uneven bars and floor. Individually, seven Huskers combined to set 11 new career-high scores. 

Emma Spence shined as she claimed the uneven bars title with a 9.900 and finished tied for second in the all-around with a 39.550. Her all-around score marked a personal best for the sophomore. 

 

Scouting the Competition

The Huskers are set to face No. 3 Michigan. The Wolverines claimed the Big Fives Session I victory on Friday, Feb. 24, with a team score of 197.100. 

Michigan took home four of the five event titles. Carly Bauman claimed the uneven bars title with a 9.950 while Abby Heiskell earned the balance beam title with a 9.950. Sierra Brooks recorded the highest floor score with a 9.925, and Natalie Wocjik tallied a 39.500 in the all-around for the title.
