Huskers Ready For Big Five in Ohio



The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team (2-4, 1-3 Big Ten) travels to Toledo, Ohio to take on Michigan State, Minnesota, Rutgers and Penn State in the Big Five meet on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 6 p.m. CT.

 

Huskers last faced each of these teams in 2021 in a conference-only schedule.

 

Last Time Out

NU claimed a share of the balance beam title against Maryland, despite falling 195.625-196.125. 

 

Sophomore Kinsey Davis and Freshman Emma Spence eached notched a 9.925, a career-high for both, to claim a share of the balance beam title. Spence also earned a career-high score in the all around, tallying a 39.375. 

Scouting the Competition

No. 14 Michigan State (8-2, 2-2 Big Ten) are coming off of a Big Ten win against Illinois. The Spartans notched their highest team score of the season with a 197.425.

No. 6 Minnesota (4-3, 3-2 Big Ten) fell to Maryland and Pitt in a triangular at College Park after earning a team score of 196.225. 

Rutgers (6-9, 1-3 Big Ten) notched their sixth win of the season on Friday, Feb. 11 with a win against Ursinus, 195.950-185.400.

Penn State (3-4, 0-4 Big Ten) fell to the reigning national champions, Michigan, on Sunday, Feb. 13, 195.875-197.600.
