Huskers in Hunt at Indiana



The Nebraska men’s golf team enter the final round of the Hoosier Collegiate in the hunt at The Pfau Course in Bloomington, Ind., on Sunday.

The Huskers closed the first day of competition in third place  at 599 (296-303, +31), trailing only Michigan State at 587 (298-289, +19) and the hosts from Indiana at 197 (301-296, +29).

Nebraska got off to a strong start with a 296 in the first round – the best opening round of the nine teams in the tournament. The Huskers, who tee off the third round at 10:30 a.m., were led by Jack Lundin, who closed the first 36 holes in tie for second at 146 (71-75). Lundin’s score through the first 18 holes was the best among the 60 golfers in the field.

Tom Westenberger joined Lundin the top 10 through two rounds at 149, while Branden Meyer added a spot in the top 25 at 153.
