The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team finished in second at the Big Ten Championships during session one with a team score of 196.450.
NU had two gymnasts finish in the top three Clara Colombo tied for second on uneven bars with a 9.900 while Kynsee Roby tied for third on beam with a 9.850.
Iowa finished with the top team score with a 196.950. Maryland finished with a 196.450 while Illinois notched a 195.825. Rutgers earned a 195.750 while Penn State tallied a 194.700.
Rotation One
The Huskers started the meet off on vault, earning a team score of 49.100. Emma Spence started the rotation off with a 9.800. Kylie Piringer followed with a career-high 9.850, the highest score for NU, while Martina Comin notched a 9.825. Kinsey Davis earned a 9.800 while Ayzhia Hall tallied a 9.750. Makayla Curtis finished the rotation with a 9.825.
Penn State started uneven bars with a team score of 49.225. Cassidy Rushlow led the Nittany Lions with a 9.900. Rutgers started on beam with a team score of 48.750. Hannah Joyner led the Scarlet Knights with a 9.850. Maryland started on floor with a team score of 49.175. Audrey Barber led the Terrapins with a 9.900. Iowa and Illinois started with a bye in rotation one.
Rotation Two
Nebraska and Rutgers had a bye during rotation two. Maryland competed on vault, finishing with a team score of 49.250. Alexis Rubio led the Terrapins with a 9.900. Iowa competed on uneven bars for their first event of the day, earning a 49.075. Allyson Steffensmeier led the Hawkeyes with a 9.900. Penn State competed on beam, earning a team score of 47.225. Maddie Johnston led Nittany Lions with a 9.700. Illinois competed on floor for their first event of the day, earning a 49.225. Mia Townes led the Fighting Illini with a 9.900.
Rotation Three
During rotation three, NU competed on uneven bars, earning a team score of 49.150. Kathryn Thaler led the Huskers off with a 9.750. Emma Spence followed with a 9.825. Clara Colombo matched her career-high with a 9.900 while Kynsee Roby matched her season-high of a 9.875. Kinsey Davis added a 9.800 while Emma Simpton finished the rotation with a 9.300.
Illinois competed on vault, tallying a 49.200. Ruthuja Nataraj led the Fighting Illini with a 9.900. Iowa competed on beam, earning a 49.100. Adeline Kenlin led the Hawkeyes with a 9.900. Rutgers competed on floor, notching a 49.200. Bella Huang and Hannah Joyner led the Scarlet Knights each with a 9.900. Maryland and Penn State had a bye during rotation three.
Rotation Four
The Big Red notched a 49.025 on beam during rotation four. Emma Spence started the rotation with a 9.800 followed by a 9.775 from Makayla Curtis. Kaitlyn Higgins earned a 9.550. Kynsee Roby notched a 9.850 while Kinsey Davis finished with a 9.800. Kathryn Thaler rounded out the rotation with a 9.800.
During rotation four, Rutgers competed on vault, tallying a team score of 49.125. Hannah Joyner and Emily Leese led the Scarlet Knights each with a 9.850. Maryland was on uneven bars, earning a team score of 49.200. Emma Silberman and Aleka Tsiknias led the Terrapins each with a 9.990. Penn State competed on floor, finishing with a team score of 49.175. Isabella Salcedo led the Nittany Lions with a 9.900. Iowa and Illinois had a bye during rotation four.
Rotation Five
Nebraska and Rutgers had its second bye during rotation five. Penn State was on vault, finishing with a 49.075. Jessica Johanson and Cassidy Rushlow led the Nittany Lions each with a 9.850. Illinois moved to uneven bars, tallying a 48.250. Mia Takekaw led the Fighting Illini with a 9.925. Maryland competed on beam, notching a team score of 48.825. Josephine Kogler led the Terrapins with a 9.825. Iowa tallied a 49.525 on floor. Lauren Guerin led the Hawkeyes with a 9.950.
Rotation Six
NU finished the afternoon on floor during rotation six. The Huskers tallied a WHAT team score. Emma Spence led off, matching her career-high score of 9.850. Ayzhia Hall followed with a 9.875. Freshman Emma Spence competed in the all-around for Nebraska and earned a 39.275. She finished fourth in session one.
