Huskers Complete Day One of All-American Tournament



Tulsa, Okla.- The Nebraska men’s tennis team had six individuals compete in Tulsa for the ITA All-American Tournament.

Senior William Gleason captured the lone win for the Huskers as he knocked off UTSA’s Javier Gonzalez 5-7, 6-2 [20-18]. The Lincoln, Neb. native lost in the second round to Oral Robert’s Volodymyr Zakharov 6-4, 6-3.

Junior Shunya Maruyama came close to winning his matchup, losing nearly by a score of 6-0, 2-6 [11-9].

In their first matches of the fall, seniors Dario Huber and Brandon Perez lost in consecutive sets. Senior Patrick Cacciatore also lost his opening round matchup and sophomore Rudra Dixit fell just short in his first-round matchup 7-5, 6-2.
