Huskers Complete Day One at OSU



Stillwater, Okla. – The Nebraska men’s tennis team won a total of five singles matches during the first day of the Oklahoma State Invite in Stillwater on Friday. 
 
Six Huskers competed and many of the team’s newcomers produced standout performances, as the team faced OSU in singles and went 5-1 overall.
 
Junior Shunya Maruyama defeated Maxim Verboven 6-4, 7-6, while senior William Gleason beat Luke Hammond 6-4, 6-3. Freshman Roni Hietaranta got his first win as a Husker against Francisco Pini 6-2, 6-4, and fellow newcomer Rudra Dixit also had a strong start to his Husker career with a win over Sammr Raina 6-3, 7-5. Senior Victor Moreno Lozano defeated Nic Pesoli 6-2, 6-2, and sophomore Nic Wiedenhorn rounded out singles play with a loss to Leighton Allen.
