Hiser Picks Up Third Big Ten Honors

Nebraska’s Chris Hiser was named Big Ten Freshman by the Big Ten Conference on Monday afternoon, following his impressive performance this past Saturday, March 12 in the tri-meet against Air Force and Army in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Hiser competed on floor in the triangular at Air Force, registering a career-high 14.25 and finishing in fourth overall for the freshman.

This marks the third Big Ten honor the Longmeadow, Mass. native has collected during the 2022 season. Hiser last claimed this honor Feb. 7.

“Chris continues to impress me with his work ethic, determination and his desire to improve! I am so proud of him and the awards he has earned so far in his young career,” said Coach Chuck Chmelka.

Heading into the tenth week of the 2022 season, No. 3 ranked Nebraska currently holds the third-place position in the NCAA on floor with a 4-score average of 68.450. Notably, only trailing 0.5 tenths behind No. 2 ranked Oklahoma.

Michigan’s Paul Juda was named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Week

Up next, the Huskers are set to take on Ohio State next Sunday, March 20 for their final regular-season meet in Columbus, Ohio. The meet is set to begin at 12:00 p.m. CT and will be streamed on the Big Ten Network.
