Frosted Flakes: Spring Football is Starting


Spring football kicks off for the Huskers today, well the press conference part of it.

Are you excited for these spring practices?

I have to admit that I’m a bit ambivalent. I guess several losing seasons will do that to you.

The Big Ten women got four teams into the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. I thought one of those would advance to the Elite Eight – my guess was Maryland. Well, I was wrong as Indiana pulled the upset over a #1 seed and Maryland lost to Texas. I did not see that coming.

Before the tournament started, there was a kerfuffle because the NCAA didn’t give the women as many amenities or equvalent facilities to the men. The women’s game has often been treated as an afterthought, but there may be some changes afoot…
