Canon Pickett Talks Nebraska Football Offer

Nebraska has been on a mission on the recruiting trail as of late. The Huskers offer tons of high-level athletes and prospects in the hope of persuading them to come to play for their school.

Nebraska recently issued an offer to Canon Pickett.

Pickett is a 6-foot-4, 280-pound offensive tackle for Wharton High School in Tampa, Florida. The 2026 prospect holds offers from many other schools, including Florida and Florida State.

Following his Cornhuskers offer, he spoke with HuskerMax to dive into the newest addition to his offer list.

“It was very exciting to receive the offer,” Pickett said. “I was with my brother and my friend, and we were all excited and jumping around.”

“The coach (director of player personnel Keith Williams) said that I was a great kid and he was very excited about me. They told me there’s stuff to do up there that I’m interested in like fishing and some hunting. They’re also building a good program.”

Some recruits have a specific outlook on schools like Nebraska even if they have yet to visit. Pickett had his own.

“They’re in the Midwest, which makes them unique from some of my offers, but their offensive line coach (Donovan Raiola) is a good coach with NFL coaching experience, so that sticks out to me.”

He also confirmed that he will visit Nebraska but does not have a date confirmed yet.

Below is his offer post.
