A Five Car Accident Claims the Life of a 13-Year Old Norris Student

A 13-year-old girl has died a day after a car she was in was involved in a five-car pileup.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says Ryan Post, a student at Norris School near Firth, died Thursday afternoon. Investigators say the girl was a right rear passenger and was wearing her seat belt at the time of Wednesday afternoon’s crash near the school.

Sheriff Terry Wagner says the five car accident on south 68th Street near Norris School resulted after vehicles slowed down because of a previous accident.

Two other students were injured in the accident with non serious injuries. Fourteen of the 16 people involved were students from the school district.

Through the early stages of the investigation it has been determined that seat-belts were in use by all involved parties and alcohol is not suspected. The investigation is ongoing but at the present time no citations have been issued.
