Nebraska Basketball: Nebraska 70 Northwestern 55

A nice win in Illinois from the Huskers

It was a slow start with poor shooting for both teams but the Huskers came back strong in the second half to beat Northwestern 70-55. This breaks a four game win streak in favor of the Wildcats.

If anything, this game showed what the Huskers could be like the rest of the season. We have seen glimpses of greatness off and on this year, but nothing that was terribly substantial. This win against Northwestern showed a team that had the confidence and determination to take a bad lead and make something out of it.

The first half both teams traded missed shot after missed shot. It was a war of attrition and neither one was shooting better than 30% from the floor. Enough big shots went down for the Wildcats who lead 30-25 at half. No one on the Husker squad was shooting particularly well and there was only 5 points off the bench in the opening half.
