Nebraska football coach Scott Frost wasn’t hanging his head Monday even though his Huskers stand at 3-6 with speculation swirling about his job status.
“It’s kind of hard to ignore talk in any situation,” Frost said. “…You learn as a coach not to pay any attention to that. I owe it to the kids to give them my everything.”
“We’re close,” Frost said. “…I’m really excited about the rest of this year. I’m really excited about about next year. I hope we get it. I think we should. … With the young guys we’ve got coming back and an opportunity to go out and get a few more pieces to add to that, I think this thing could be really good.”

Frost said he expects the Huskers to be focused Saturday against No. 6 Ohio State.
“Our guys are excited,” he said. “They love these games. I think we’ve played our best football against the best teams we’ve played this year.”
Frost addressed Adrian Martinez’s four interceptions in the loss to Purdue and said they weren’t all his fault. Frost even shared blame for one of them.
