Time to ditch Adidas

Since the first year of the CFP 11 different schools have qualified.
9 wore Nike, 1 wore UA, 1 wore Adidas. Of the 28 different teams selected, 25 teams wore Nike, 2 wore UA, 1 wore adidas. 14 out of 14 teams that competed for the championship were wearing Nike.

Currently 8 teams in the top 10 are wearing Nike. 2 are wearing UA. The highest ranked Adidas school is UTSA at 15.

If you need any more proof that Adidas is holding us back.. look no further than the University of Miami. A school with similar history, in a state with much more talent, in a city with much more appeal.

Obviously there’s many factors, but not being a Nike school sure seems like a big one. It’s not just a logo on your jersey. It’s your workout gear, it’s your underwear, it’s your shoes/cleats. 17 year olds care about this stuff. We can’t outfit our team in B tier athletic wear and expect S tier talent. Adidas was lame 10 years ago when I was 17, and they’ve only gotten less relevant (as a football brand) over that time.

Edit: I’m not saying this will fix Nebraska football. I’m saying it will help Nebraska football.
