Lincoln – Three members of the Husker men’s basketball program will graduate from the University of Nebraska this weekend during commencement ceremonies at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The group includes former Husker Duby Okeke (Jonesboro, Ga.), who received his Master’s Degree on Friday, and 2019 seniors Tanner Borchardt (Gothenberg, Neb.) and Johnny Trueblood (Omaha, Neb.), who graduate on Saturday.

Okeke earned his Master’s Degree in Science in Child, Youth and Family Studies while balancing a professional basketball career, as he is currently playing in Spain. Okeke played in 28 games in 2017-18 and ranked third on the team in blocked shots in helping the Huskers to a 22-11 record and an NIT berth in his only season at Nebraska. Okeke was a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2018 for his work with the Huskers’ Life Skills program. He originally received his undergraduate degree from Winthrop in 2017.

Borchardt, who originally walked on at Nebraska, graduates with a degree in management. He was a four-year letterwinner and was a major contributor on Nebraska’s back-to-back NIT teams in 2018 and 2019. Borchardt set career highs in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage as a senior, capping his career with a 16-point, 13-rebound performance at TCU in the NIT. Off the court, he was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a two-time NABC Honors Court member while being named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll on six occasions.

Trueblood was a three-year letterwinner for the Huskers during his career and graduates with a degree in business administration. The Omaha native played a significant role in the Huskers’ 2019 Big Ten Tournament and NIT postseason runs, setting career highs in points, rebounds and assists during the 2019 NIT.  A two-time academic All-Big Ten selection, he was a four-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll honoree.
