The Lightbourne “Kickoff”

Hear me out here, I’m interested to hear others’ thoughts.

Join me, if you will, in an alternate timeline. In this timeline, a young Nebraska team with a brand new coach went to the Horseshoe in 2018, marched down the field and scored on their first possession, as in ours – but this time, on the ensuing kickoff, Caleb doesn’t fall down at the tee like a geriatric. He lobs the perfect surprise onside kick, Nebraska recovers and scores again. OSU’s confidence is crushed instead of ours, and we go on to win the game. How the rest of the season (and the subsequent seasons up to now) end is up to you.

But my question is, had that single play early on not damaged this team so deeply psychologically, how different do you think things would be right now?
