Stott Earns Podium Finish at British Nationals



Shannon Stott and Maia Hall spent the past week competing at the six-day 2023 British Swimming Championships, hosted at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield, England.

Stott recorded a trio of A Final qualifications and two school records throughout the six days. In the 400m freestyle, Stott earned a podium finish, claiming the bronze medal with a long-course school record time of 4:13.87. That time is six seconds faster than Stott’s previous best.

In the 200m butterfly, Stott added a record-breaking performance in the final. With a 2:12.78, Stott placed seventh. She touched the wall at 2:01.35 in the 200m freestyle A Final to finish eighth. Stott wrapped up her week with a B Final swim in the 100m butterfly, clocking a 1:01.81 in the finals.

Hall placed sixth in the 100m breaststroke B Final with a time of 1:11.32. She added a 200m breaststroke bonus final win with a career-best 2:32.91. In the 50m breaststroke prelim, Hall clocked a 33.36 to place 30th. In the 200m IM, Hall finished 32nd in 2:23.76.
