Stott Drops Time at Mizzou Qualifier



Five Huskers swam at the Mizzou Last Chance Qualifier over the weekend in Columbia, Mo., looking to post their best times of the season in an effort to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Shannon Stott raced to a career-best 500 freestyle time, rebreaking the school record she set a week ago at the Big Ten Championships. The 4:41.34 betters her NCAA B-Standard Cut.

Nebraska brought the breaststroke trio of JoJo Randby, Maia Hall and Sydney McCracken to the Mizzou Aquatic Center. In the 100 breaststroke, Randby clocked her best time of the day in the prelims with a 1:00.59. The sophomore from Omaha is coming off of a record-breaking performance at the conference meet, where she broke the 27-year-old 100 breaststroke record with a 1:00.07 in the finals to place seventh.

Hall swam the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.56 during the Saturday night finals session, while McCracken clocked a 1:02.69 in the prelims.

In the 200 breaststroke, Hall finished in 2:14.51 and McCracken touched the wall at 2:16.34.

Gena Jorgenson clocked a 16:14.26 in the mile, less than a second off her school record time (16:13.54) that she set last week.

The list of qualifiers for the 2023 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships is set to be released on Wednesday, March 1.
