Scott Frost the CEO

I thought the key to yesterday’s news was hearing how Scott Frost was going to be taking on a more CEO-type role. It’s been abundantly clear that Frost’s extreme involvement in the offense (especially play-calling) has detracted from other key areas of focus that are required by a coach. My hope is that we will see better clock management, situational awareness, and player development (especially a decrease in simple penalties).

The biggest question is what kind of OC are we going to bring in. I personally am fond of the heavy run and having a mobile QB. We clearly need to decrease the amount of QB run though as Adrian has been hurt every year he’s been here.

This is a key point in our program. It reminds me a lot of Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly overhauling his coaching style after their 4-8 season to become more CEOesque. Let us hope we follow their success.
