Scott Frost Day News: Roast and Frost Looks Ahead

Growing up I always felt like my mom was constantly making roast for dinner. I didn’t like roast, so I was never pleased about it. I would walk into the house and smell the roast that had been in the crockpot all day and complain instantly. (Yes, I was such a pleasant child. Don’t worry my children are paying me back for that now.)

Now I can understand why we had roast so much. We lived on a farm and always had meat in the freezer and potatoes in the cellar, so it was cheap. Also, it’s so easy to throw in the crockpot and be done. It makes sense.

The reason I bring this up is that last night I made roast for my family for the first time ever. My kids are seven and five and have never had roast before, at least not made by me. I now have to admit that it is pretty good and super convenient. Also, it took a little prodding, but my kids ate it pretty well.

Sorry for being such a whiner, Mom.

What food do you dislike that most other people like?
