* Frost said Thursday that sophomore left guard Nouredin Nouili has been placed on scholarship. Frost said the German national and former exchange student is a “great story” and that he was happy that NU had one scholarship in its back pocket to give to Nouili.

* Frost said he thought his players have done a good job of being “locked-in” on preparing for Ohio State even as conversations have ramped up over the past week about his job security and whether he’ll be back for the 2022 season.

* Walk-on kicker Chase Contreraz will handle the place-kicking duties again this weekend against the Buckeyes. Frost said he thought the former Iowa Western C.C. transfer had a confident look about him last week and that he kicked well, so he’ll be the starter for the second straight week.
