QB sneaks

Why do we not sneak the ball on short yardage? I know I might sound like a old “run the ball guy” type but the stats back up the qb sneak as a no brainer short yardage play. The conversion rate in the NFL is 88% according to an an article I’ll link below (seems high but I know it’s at least close to 80% generally.) This means if it’s 3rd and 1 you can run it twice for a conversion rate of 98%!

I know in recent years Mahomes got injured on one in a freak accident, is that why teams are less inclined to run it? Tom Brady perfected it for years in New England and it’s generally a slow impact play.

If I were the coach and my team ever had 1 yard to go I would have them coached to quickly rush to the line and run it without substitution time for the defense. 3rd down and didn’t get it? Rush to the line and do it again.

So does Whip not know the effectiveness of the play or is he too obsessed with calling something more “creative”? I know we don’t call as many plays under center but that can be practiced just fine.
