#ProBigRed: Huskers in the NFL – Week 8

Offensive lineman Nick Gates (Giants) and Alex Lewis (Jets) highlighted the Huskers in the NFL offensively in Week 7, both starting on the offensive line and playing the entire game. The Giants generated 375 yards of total offense, and the Jets combined for 226 yards.

Defensively, teammates Lavonte David and Ndamukong Suh (Buccaneers) were the top Blackshirts over the weekend.  Both started on defense, with David recording five tackles, and Suh with two, including a 5-yard sack. Suh led the team with five QB hits.

On special teams, Sam Koch led the way, punting three times for 117 yards for the Baltimore Ravens, including two downed inside the 20 yard line and a long of 44 yards.

RB Rex Burkhead: Played 50% of all offensive snaps, with 6 rushes for 26 yards and one pass reception. Also saw action on 12 special teams snaps.

OL Alex Lewis: Returned to the starting lineup at left guard after a shoulder injury in Week 6. Helped the Jets rush for 93 yards and pass for 133 yards.

CB Lamar Jackson: Saw action on 2 special teams snaps.

DL Maliek Collins: Started at defensive tackle and played 31 defensive snaps with one tackle.

P Sam Koch: Punted 3 times, averaging 39 yards per punt. Included 2 inside the Pittsburgh 20 yard line and a long of 44 yards.

TE Cethan Carter: Recorded one pass reception on 16 offensive snaps, while also seeing action on 14 special teams snaps.
