Nebraska’s Big Ten opponents feature home games against Purdue, Indiana

The Nebraska men’s basketball team will host Indiana, Michigan State and Purdue, among other Big Ten heavyweights, as part of its league home schedule next season.

Rival Iowa, however, won’t be visiting Pinnacle Bank Arena. The Huskers and Hawkeyes play just once during the 2023-24 season — in Iowa City.

The Big Ten released its home-and-away pairings Tuesday morning. Each team plays 20 conference games next season; the Big Ten has yet to announce how it’ll arrange schedules once UCLA and USC join for the 2024-25 hoops season.

Nebraska has home-and-away games against Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota Northwestern, Ohio State, Rutgers and Wisconsin. NU plays MSU, Purdue and Penn State only at home, and Iowa, Illinois and Maryland only on the road.

Iowa tends to be one of Nebraska’s most popular home games each year it is played, so the Huskers will miss out on that opportunity. Simultaneously, the Huskers avoid two of the league’s toughest road venues — Purdue and MSU — and also avoid the long trip to Penn State.
