Quotables

Head Coach Scott Frost on the receiving core

“For all those young guys, it’s a matter of just being here, being here consistently and continuing to learn. Though sometimes not their fault, they just haven’t been able to get the reps and get the experience, but when those guys are around, we recruited them for a reason, they’re talented, they just need to keep learning and get more consistent.”

“They all got set back a little bit, whether it was a virus or an injury or an absence, but they’re getting close.”

Defensive Coordinator Erik Chinander on Myles Farmer

“He’s practiced the right way all through this fall camp, knowing that his shot is one play away, and he’s ready to take it.”

And Noa Pola-Gates

“The gap that they’ve bridged so to speak is they’re catching up in knowledge of the game. You could always tell when they first got here, both of those guys are super athletic. Myles is a really long kid and Noa is as twitchy of a guy that’s on the football team. So it’s just knowing what to be and being able to have the coaches be able to trust them snap in, snap out.”

Offensive Line Coach Greg Austin on mixing younger players into the game

“It’s all in an effort to continue to evolve the young guys but then also to keep the old guys healthy,”

“I think they learned a lot about themselves in the process of having that first game, especially a game against a really good defensive line, a really good defense,”
