Nebraska men’s basketball player Ramel Lloyd enters transfer portal

Nebraska guard Ramel Lloyd Jr. will transfer from the program, ending his NU career without having appeared in a game.

Lloyd came to Nebraska in 2022 as a top-100 prep prospect out of Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles. He averaged 11.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per game as a senior and chose NU over offers from Oklahoma, Oregon, LSU and Arizona among others.

Lloyd redshirted his first season. He spent this past season on and off the availability report, having injured his leg in a preseason practice.

His departure means NU has at least four players who won’t return in 2024-25. Josiah Allick, Keisei Tominaga and Jarron Coleman all exhausted their eligibility at the end of the season.

Husker coaches are meeting this week with all NU players who could potentially return. The portal opened last week.
