Is 2014 the season that Nebraska football fans have been waiting for?

498 total rushing yards.
784 total yards of offense.
No turnovers.
Star running back Ameer Abdullah with a career high 232 rushing yards on 21 carries.
Two wide receivers combined for 241 yards receiving on 11 receptions.
Wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp with what could quite possibly be the catch of the year already.
Defense only allowing 7 points and 200 total yards.  And doing it without Randy Gregory.
Why not be excited about those numbers? That is a great start to the season, but (there is always a but, isn’t there?), Florida Atlantic was a 6-6 team a year ago — hardly what you’d call a competitive opponent.  They played one ranked team all last season.  So is it wrong of Husker fans to be excited about what they saw last week?
Absolutely not!
What is not to like about how they played last Saturday?  It’s early — very early.  This week, Nebraska faces McNeese State, which sounds more like something you order off the value menu than an actual football team (no offense).  So I exp…
